IceCube (Neutrino Observatory) Lab and Drill Camp
The IceCube Neutrino Observatory Lab
IceCube drill camp from the lab.  During construction
the drill camp location changes each season.
A Digital Optical Module (DOM), 1 of about 60 lowered
into each hole in the ice.
IceCube drill camp.  The holes are drilled in the ice
with high-pressure hot water.
The holes are up to 2.5 kilometers deep.  By
completion in 2011, 80 holes will have been drilled.
The drill camp is a maze of cables, hoses, wires, etc.
