My wife and I lived in Washington, DC for
several years. The hardest thing about this
photo was getting up before dawn on my day
off. When you live in a place, as opposed to
visiting, it is so easy to say "There will be
other days." As hard as they are to start,
these early mornings tend to be some of my
favorite times. You often find you have a
normally crowded place all to yourself to
quietly watch a new day unfold. Photo 1996
